PLANO, Texas (Dec. 17, 2024) - The 2025 Toyota Tacoma enhances its off-road legacy with updates like red front tow hooks for TRD Pro and Trailhunter grades, a new TRD Pro color (Mudbath), and a fourth pre-wired auxiliary switch.

Powertrain options include the i-FORCE MAX hybrid (326 hp, 465 lb.-ft., up to 24 MPG) and the i-FORCE 2.4L turbocharged engine (278 hp, 317 lb.-ft., up to 26 MPG). A six-speed manual transmission with rev-matching is also available.

The Trailhunter grade features Old Man Emu shocks, 33-inch Goodyear tires, and a heritage-inspired grille with LED lighting, while the Baja-inspired TRD Pro includes IsoDynamic seats, TRD-tuned FOX shocks, and optional two-tone paint.

Available in 2WD, part-time 4WD, and full-time 4WD, the Tacoma ensures off-road capability, with Adaptive Variable Suspension standard on Limited grades.

Arriving this winter, the Tacoma starts at $31,590 (MSRP).

Ready to Ride
The 2025 Toyota Tacoma is built on Toyota’s TNGA-F global truck platform, shared with the Tundra and Land Cruiser. Its chassis uses high-strength steel for increased rigidity and aluminum on the upper body to reduce weight. Frame crossmembers are strengthened, and a standard high-lift jack point is integrated into the rear frame.

A key upgrade is the redesigned coil spring multi-link rear suspension, improving ride and handling on most grades. Each grade also features suspension tuning:
- TRD Sport: TRD Sport-tuned shocks for responsiveness.
- TRD Off-Road: Bilstein remote reservoir shocks for extended wheel travel and heat dissipation.
- TRD Pro: FOX QS3 adjustable shocks and IFP bump stops for high-speed off-road performance.
- Trailhunter: Old Man Emu monotube shocks for off-road control and load capability.
- Limited: Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) for a smoother, luxurious ride.

All grades include front and rear disc brakes for improved control and Electric Power Steering (EPS) for better feel and enhanced safety features.

MAXimum Capability
The 2025 Toyota Tacoma enhances off-road performance with the Stabilizer Disconnect Mechanism (SDM) for increased suspension articulation, Multi-Terrain Monitor for obstacle viewing, and standard underbody protection. Multi-Terrain Select, CRAWL Control, and an electronic locking rear differential further improve off-road handling.

Towing capacity reaches 6,500 lbs. with features like a trailer brake controller, Straight Path Assist, Blind Spot Monitor for trailers, and a Wireless Trailer Camera. A manual headlight leveling switch reduces glare during towing trips.

Making the Grade
The 2025 Toyota Tacoma comes in SR, SR5, TRD PreRunner, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, Limited, TRD Pro, and Trailhunter grades with two cab styles: the two-seat XtraCab (6-foot bed) and four-seat Double Cab (5- or 6-foot bed). The XtraCab focuses on utility, featuring lockable rear storage, fold-flat passenger seating, and workspace functionality.

The hybrid i-FORCE MAX powertrain is available on TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, Limited, TRD Pro, and Trailhunter, offering power and a 2400W AC power supply. TRD Pro boasts FOX® QS3 shocks, IsoDynamic Performance Seats, and exclusive design features like a heritage-inspired grille and 20-inch LED light bar. Trailhunter includes OME shocks, a steel rear bumper, and modular MOLLE panels.

The Limited grade delivers luxury with SofTex® seats, walnut accents, and advanced tech like a 14-inch touchscreen and Head-Up Display. Tacoma’s vibrant colors include Terra, Blue Crush Metallic, and TRD Pro-exclusive Mudbath.

Advanced Tech
The 2025 Toyota Tacoma is packed with advanced technology for convenience and entertainment. It features an 8-inch or available 14-inch multimedia touchscreen with Toyota’s latest Audio Multimedia system, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. Complementing this are dual front-row USB-C ports, optional rear USB-C ports, and an available Qi wireless charging pad with enhanced output.

All i-FORCE MAX models include a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster with customizable displays. A Smart Key System with push-button start is standard on all grades, with optional Digital Key compatibility for smartphone access and control, plus a credit card-sized Card Key for added portability.

For audiophiles, Tacoma offers a ten-speaker JBL® premium audio system with a JBL® FLEX portable Bluetooth speaker available on higher trims. The JBL® FLEX acts as a dash speaker when docked and a portable, waterproof speaker when undocked, with a six-hour battery life and pairing capability.

To the MAX
The i-FORCE MAX Tacoma includes Drive Mode Select, offering tailored driving dynamics at the twist of a dial. Standard modes—Normal, Eco, and Sport—adjust shift patterns, pedal response, HVAC performance, and steering feel.

The Limited Grade enhances this with Sport S+, Comfort, and a Custom Mode for personalized settings. For towing needs, a Tow/Haul mode is standard on all i-FORCE MAX grades and available on others, optimizing throttle response and transmission performance for effortless towing.
