Have you ever woken up hungry before? For us, this past Sunday was especially so. And the need to feed kick started the brain to kick start a 1970s noise machine.

A.m. satisfaction guaranteed

So off we went windows down, unbathed heading to the first meal that comes to mind. We ended up near KLIA for some cultural cuisine and that really hit the spot. Cravings satisfied. Seeing as the drive took a good 30minutes, by the time we were back in kl working the manual stick and 320hp race drive line, we got hungry again.

A few calls later we were going to PD for nostalgic lunch. We seem to be going to PD frequently these fews weeks... So we changed to the "Aston Martin" for a more comfortable cruise (and air conditioning) and rendezvous at the next point. As we were early, doesn't hurt filling the tank once again. RM8.90 lands you a proper meal with drink. Not too shabby.

Hearty, but the V8 is still hungry

GTS spells: the weekend

So off we headed for PD, good thing about this location, is that its not too far away but not too near as well. Perfect for those short getaways. This time we decided to revisit a childhood restaurant which amazingly is still in operation after 30 years. Still "vintage" but cleaner, the past favourites were still rolling off the kitchen. Good thing this time, they were speaking Cantonese, English and Bahasa. Previously they only operated in Mandarin.

So out the classic favourites rolled; simple, unpretentious, just good ol' fashion home cooking with much love. The prices are simple too.

Meal starts of with the popular grilled squid

Export grade otak otak

I remember those ladies fingers from 2 decades back!

Twin taste roasted duck

Their trademark crab in shell. Also a 2 decade old memory

"Aston Martini" waiting on the side

So after lunch, we headed back via beachfront. But seeing the strong winds blowing in and storm clouds brewing at the horizon, we suddenly hear the calling of the sea. Perfect winds for sailing went through the mind. And a valid point at that. Seeing as we were eating so much up to mid-day, it was only right to do some cardio activity to help digestion... otherwise it would just be stored as body fat.

So off we headed to the marina. Winds blowing hard and rain clouds reaching land, this was going to be a wet affair. The wettest yet. Thanks to all the food, we had plenty of reserve energy. Rain soaked and cold we began to work our metabolism. Winds blowing hard and the seas getting darker. Awesome.

Tiny sailboat heading to the horizon battling winds, waves and rain like a champion. While the men work, the women put their life jackets on. Can't blame their lack of confidence as none of the males were dressed to the occasion but were carrying handphones and selfies along the way. With the strong winds, we were making good ground.

After an hour heading seawards, we decided to make back for land, but as the rain was still coming down hard, the horizons disappeared. Nothing was in sight 360* through the watery eyes and bellowing winds. Cold and wet mother nature were not even at her top fury. Fortunately for technology we were able to navigate back to shore blind. Don't try this at home (?).

Land ahead. But you can't see it. Here are all the makings of " Life of Pi" or "Lost at Sea"

Land ahoy. Spotted only at 800m distance

And the good thing about sports cars? Times like these, they bring you back quick, safe and in a cocoon 2nd only to the womb after a hard physical day.

Ironically, after all the hard work at sea and a quick drive back to kl. We became hungry again!
