Tokyo, Japan – 11 September 2025. Honda has announced the release of the N-ONE e:, a new kei-class electric vehicle set to go on sale in Japan on September 12, 2025. Designed under the concept of “e:Daily Partner,” the N-ONE e: aims to be more than just transportation — it is envisioned as a trusted everyday companion that brings energy, convenience, and confidence to daily living.
Blending Heritage with Modern EV Innovation
The N-ONE e: carries forward the familiar, endearing design language of the popular N-ONE while incorporating Honda’s fundamental “M·M (Man Maximum, Machine Minimum)” philosophy, first introduced with the original N360 in the 1960s. By maximizing interior space while minimizing mechanical intrusion, Honda has ensured the EV maintains the spacious practicality the N-ONE is known for.
At the same time, the shift to electric propulsion brings new advantages: the quiet refinement of an EV, powerful and responsive acceleration, and a driving range of 295 km (WLTC mode) — offering peace of mind for everyday commuting and weekend outings alike.
Smart and Functional Design
To ensure the car integrates seamlessly into daily life, Honda has pursued a balance of simplicity and practicality. Inside, the cabin layout remains versatile, with clever seat-folding mechanisms that allow for multiple cargo arrangements — from flat-floor loading to vertical space for taller items. The steering wheel has been adjusted for a more natural driving posture, while the hood design improves forward visibility, making city driving and tight parking maneuvers easier.
On the outside, subtle design changes distinguish the N-ONE e: as a clean, modern EV. Curved body panels and a sleeker stance give it a stable, high-quality look, while the charging port is conveniently located in the front grille for easier access.
EV-Specific Benefits
The N-ONE e: is not just about mobility; it is designed to support modern lifestyles. Key features include:
• Onboard Power Supply (up to 1,500 W) – useful for camping, outdoor activities, or emergencies.
• Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) capability – allows stored energy to be sent back to the home, reducing electricity costs or providing backup power during outages.
• Efficient charging – around 4.5 hours with normal charging, or about 30 minutes using rapid charging.
These features make the N-ONE e: a practical choice not only for commuting, but also for energy-conscious households.
Everyday Driving Performance
The N-ONE e: has been engineered with city life in mind. Honda focused on the real-world situations drivers face daily — accelerating smoothly from a stop, navigating intersections, and making tight turns in parking lots.
The result is a car that combines the quiet, seamless acceleration unique to EVs with agile handling and a tight turning radius. The low center of gravity, thanks to the floor-mounted battery, contributes to stability and comfort. Braking is natural and reassuring, enhanced by electric servo brakes that deliver precise deceleration.
For the first time in a Honda kei passenger car, the N-ONE e: introduces single-pedal driving, allowing the driver to accelerate, decelerate, and even come to a full stop simply by modulating the accelerator pedal. This reduces the need to switch between pedals — particularly convenient in stop-and-go urban traffic.
Powertrain and Range
Underneath its compact frame, the N-ONE e: packs a thin, high-capacity battery paired with a compact electric motor. Together, they deliver a driving range of 295 km (WLTC mode), more than enough for daily commuting and short trips.
Charging is designed to be simple and stress-free:
• Normal charging: About 4.5 hours
• Rapid charging: Around 30 minutes
A built-in battery cooling and heating system ensures consistent performance in both summer and winter, stabilizing range and charging times regardless of weather.
Trim Levels
The N-ONE e: will be offered in two main grades, each tailored to different lifestyles:
• e: G – The base trim, focused on simple design and functionality. Comes standard with Bluetooth-enabled audio and offers an optional 8-inch display audio system. Buyers can also choose to add rapid charging capability.
• e: L – The premium trim, adding a 9-inch Honda CONNECT display with navigation, 14-inch alloy wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and rapid charging as standard.
Safety and Driver Assistance
As with other recent Honda models, the N-ONE e: comes equipped with the Honda SENSING suite of advanced driver-assistance systems as standard.
Key features include:
• Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
• Adaptive Cruise Control with Traffic Jam Assist
• Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS)
• Pedestrian avoidance steering
• Traffic sign recognition
• Automatic high beams
• Parking sensor system
• Mis-start suppression (forward and reverse)
For the first time in a kei Honda passenger car, Traffic Jam Assist is included, offering hands-on support in congested driving conditions. A post-collision braking system is also available to help minimize secondary damage after an impact.
Connectivity and Remote Features
Through Honda’s Total Care smartphone app, N-ONE e: owners can access a variety of remote functions, such as:
• Checking charging status and range in real time
• Scheduling charging for off-peak electricity hours
• Pre-conditioning the cabin temperature before departure
• Setting maximum charge levels to extend battery life
• Managing Vehicle-to-Home energy usage
Higher trims can also access additional subscription-based features like automatic map updates, in-car Wi-Fi, Honda Digital Key, and emergency support services.
Pricing and Availability
The N-ONE e: will launch in Japan on September 12, 2025, with prices as follows (including 10% consumption tax):
• e: G – ¥2,699,400
• e: L – ¥3,198,800
Both models seat four passengers, and while rapid charging is optional on the e: G, it comes standard on the e: L.

The Everyday EV
With its balance of heritage-inspired design, modern EV capability, and lifestyle-friendly features, the Honda N-ONE e: positions itself as a kei EV that doesn’t just move people, but enhances their everyday lives. Practical, approachable, and thoughtfully equipped, it is Honda’s vision of what a true “daily partner” EV should be.
