Enter Ferrari’s 599GTB, successor to the 575 Maranello. Named after its 5999cc V12 Engine derived from the Enzo Ferrari supercar, the 599GTB is Ferrari’s latest interpretation of its modern line of Grand Touring Berlinettas. With Hi-tech features and 620hp served on tap, 2 very lucky occupants would be very much enthralled.
The 599GTB was launched in Sepang’s F1 Circuit alongside Ferraris’ exclusive track-day. As usual the track was painted in patriotic Rosso Red and a soundtrack of howling tunes filled the pits, hills and everything in between.
A generous lunch spread was prepared and Ferrari Pilota Drivers were imported to coach Ferrari owners how to extract the best from their machines, be it a 308 or 430; though fun was the order for the day and not so much who was pole.
As few owners hardly find time amidst their hectic schedule to be with their Ferraris, an occasion like this reminds them why they bought these bungalow-on-wheels in the first place, spend Business-Class tickets on servicing and use them occasionally like the family China.
On Ferrari days, grown-ups magically turn youthful and rekindle their childhood exuberance. Seldom can they gun full throttle exiting the Pits, burn 3 litres of octane/ lap without a care in the world and return lost for words. The day ends with minimal fuss and drivers return home in anticipation of the next event.
