PLANO, Texas (Feb. 5, 2025) – For customers seeking a paradigm of performance and an adventure-ready SUV, the wait is finally over. The 2025 Lexus LX has arrived with pure power, superior on-road agility, and heightened off-road capability and confidence.

Since its launch in 1995, the Lexus LX has served as the brand’s definitive statement of flagship luxury. For 2025, the SUV takes luxury to even greater heights with improvements to the LX 600 and the addition of the first-ever LX 700h.

The 2025 LX is offered in five grades: Premium, F SPORT Handling, Luxury, Ultra Luxury, and — new for this year — Overtrail. This makes the LX the only vehicle in the Lexus lineup to offer both F SPORT and Overtrail. For a full breakdown of the standard and available features by grade, please see the LX Specifications.

LEXUS OVERTAIL PROJECT
At the 2023 Tokyo Outdoor Show, Lexus introduced the “Overtrail Project,” an initiative that intends to inspire customers around the world to explore nature through refined adventures. The goal is to include more opportunities for Lexus customers in the future, including potential products, accessories, gear, and experiences. The addition of Overtrail as an available grade on the LX 700h falls under the umbrella of this initiative.

OVERTAIL EMBOLDENS OFF-ROAD DISCOVERY
The Overtrail grade enhances the LX’s off-road capability with added features for outdoor exploration. It sports a rugged look with an Earth1 exterior and a Black or Stone Brown semi-aniline leather-trimmed interior, accented with Stone Brown stitching and Black Open Pore wood.

Key upgrades include front and rear locking differentials, a 2,400W AC inverter, and all-weather floor liners. It also features 33-inch All-Terrain tires, 18-inch wheels, a front skid plate, and a matte gray grille, black door handles, dark gray roof rails, dark chrome trim, and black overfenders.

Available on the LX 700h, the Overtrail can be configured with two or three rows.

GA-F PLATFORM
The 2025 LX 600 and 700h are built on the GA-F platform, introduced in 2022. To support the LX 700h’s weight and length, a new three-cross frame and redesigned spare tire cross optimize battery placement while maintaining off-road capability.

The platform enhances body rigidity and handling, refining Lexus Driving Signature (LDS) for a more responsive steering feel and improved wheel articulation. Redesigned cab mount cushions reduce low-frequency vibrations, enhancing durability, noise insulation, and ride comfort.

A double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear suspension balance off-road performance with on-road refinement.

A POWERTRAIN FOR EVERY ADVENTURE
Both the LX 600 and LX 700h can tow up to 8,000 pounds, ensuring capability for any journey.

LX-FIRST HYBRID POWERTRAIN
The LX 700h joins Lexus’ lineup of 12 electrified models, supporting carbon reduction through multiple pathways. Powered by a nickel-metal hydride battery, its twin-turbocharged 3.4L V6 engine and 10-speed Direct Shift Automatic Transmission deliver 457 horsepower, 583 lb.-ft. of torque, and an EPA-estimated 20 MPG combined. Twin turbochargers ensure smooth power delivery on and off-road.

For the first time in a Lexus hybrid, both an alternator and starter are standard, allowing independent engine ignition and auxiliary battery support. The system enhances off-road performance by enabling motor-only driving in low-range conditions, aiding precise throttle control in rugged terrain.

The hybrid battery is housed in a waterproof tray, ensuring 27.5-inch fording capability. A built-in water sensor alerts the driver if water enters the tray.

POWERING THE LX 600
The LX 600’s 3.4L twin-turbo V6 (V35A-FTS) produces 409 horsepower and 479 lb.-ft. of torque, maintaining peak torque up to 3,600 rpm for better on- and off-road handling.

10-SPEED DIRECT SHIFT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
Standard across the LX lineup, the 10-speed transmission provides smooth starts and direct acceleration, with lockup engaged through most of its operation. A wide gear ratio range supports both strong low-speed power and high-speed efficiency.

An oil pan guard enhances underbody protection, reducing damage risk on rocky terrain.

UNCOMPROMISING PERFORMANCE
The 2025 LX continues its legacy of luxury, power, and off-road capability.

A Torsen® limited-slip locking center differential comes standard, splitting power 50:50 for improved traction in low-grip conditions. On turns, it adjusts torque for optimal control, while on straight roads, it enhances stability. The LX 700h Overtrail grade adds electronically controlled front and rear locking differentials for greater wheel stability on rough terrain.

Standard Performance Features Across the 2025 LX Lineup:
- Active Height Control (AHC) & Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS): Improves grip, control, and ride smoothness by adjusting damping force based on road conditions.
- Multi-Terrain Select (MTS): Optimizes power, braking, and suspension for various off-road modes, with Auto mode adapting in real-time.
- Multi-Terrain Monitor (MTM): Uses four cameras to provide a 360° view, enhancing visibility of road conditions and obstacles.
- Electric Power Steering (EPS) & Electronically Controlled Brake (ECB): Enhances steering response and braking stability, especially in off-road scenarios.
- Crawl Control with Turn Assist: Maintains low-speed control with five selectable speeds, while Turn Assist tightens turning radius.
- Downhill Assist Control: Automatically manages braking on steep descents for a stable and controlled drive.
- Drive Mode Select: Offers multiple driving modes, including Normal, ECO, Comfort, Sport S, and Sport S+, for a tailored driving experience.

TURNING HEADS ON AND OFF-ROAD
The 2025 Lexus LX blends luxury with rugged capability under the “Dignified Sophistication” design philosophy. A cab-backward stance and sculpted torso create a dynamic look, while the frame-free spindle grille enhances cooling for the twin-turbo engine. Large side radiator grilles further optimize airflow.

The L-shaped headlamps feature a layered, three-dimensional design for added depth, while the muscular side profile and sculpted rear quarter pillars emphasize strength. The rear LED combination lamps create a seamless flow from front to back.

For 2025, a full-size spare tire is now standard across all models. The LX is available in seven exterior colors, including Eminent White Pearl and Manganese Luster (extra cost).
