- Racing DNA meets maximised everyday usability.
The first-ever BMW M3 CS Touring enhances BMW M GmbH’s high-performance lineup with greater power and a racing-inspired feel. Based on the M3 Competition Touring with M xDrive, it features a 405 kW/550 hp six-cylinder engine, bespoke chassis tuning, exclusive design elements, and weight-saving CFRP components. This blend ensures dynamic performance both on the track and in everyday use.
With an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission and M xDrive, the M3 CS Touring accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.5 seconds.
The world premiere will take place at the Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, Australia, on 30 January 2025, during the Bathurst 12 Hour race. Deliveries to Europe, Australia, Japan, and South Korea start in March 2025, with Germany as the key market. Production will occur at BMW Group Plant Munich alongside other M3 models.
Six-cylinder in-line engine adapts racing-car technology.
The BMW M3 CS Touring’s 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine is built for track performance, featuring a rigid crankcase, lightweight forged crankshaft, and a 3D-printed cylinder head. Advanced cooling and oil systems ensure durability under extreme driving conditions.
With M TwinTurbo technology and increased turbo pressure (2.1 bar), the engine delivers 405 kW/550 hp and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque between 2,750 and 5,950 rpm. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds (3.2 seconds with "one-foot rollout") and reaches 200 km/h in 11.7 seconds. The M Driver’s Package limits top speed to 300 km/h (186 mph).
The M-specific exhaust system, with titanium silencers and adjustable flaps, enhances the driving experience with an adaptive sound profile. Paired with an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission, the car offers three shift modes, including a track-optimized setting.
Power is distributed via M xDrive all-wheel drive and an Active M Differential, ensuring dynamic handling. Drivers can select 4WD Sport for a rear-biased setup or switch to 2WD for pure rear-wheel drive with DSC off.
Model-specific tuning for the chassis technology and performance-focused stopping power.
The BMW M3 CS Touring’s chassis is precisely tuned to match its engine, weight distribution, and high-performance capabilities. The DSC system and M Dynamic Mode are optimized for track driving, while the adaptive M suspension, M Servotronic steering, and integrated braking system feature model-specific setups.
Braking is handled by M Compound brakes with Red or Black callipers, with optional M Carbon ceramic brakes available in Red or matt Gold. The car comes with forged M light-alloy wheels in a double-spoke design, finished in matt Gold Bronze or matt Black. These 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels are fitted with track tyres as standard, with sport and ultra-track tyre options also available.
Exclusive carbon-fibre components and optimised body rigidity help to produce outstanding performance attributes.
The BMW M3 CS Touring combines a powerful engine, model-specific chassis, and intelligent lightweight design for exceptional performance. Extensive use of carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) minimizes weight, with the bonnet, front splitter, air intakes, mirror caps, and rear diffuser all made from CFRP. Inside, M Carbon bucket seats, CFRP shift paddles, trim, and the centre console contribute to a 15 kg weight reduction over the M3 Competition Touring with M xDrive. An optional M front end strut brace further enhances rigidity.
Blending M performance with Touring versatility, the model offers a flexible cargo capacity from 500 to 1,510 litres. Its aerodynamic design includes exposed carbon fibre elements contrasting with exclusive exterior colours: British Racing Green, Laguna Seca Blue, Frozen Solid White, and Sapphire Black metallic. A Black high-gloss roof and roof spoiler, accented by a red surround, add to its bold look.
At the front, the frameless BMW M kidney grille is lightweight and minimalistic, featuring black model lettering with a red outline. LED headlights emit a striking yellow glow, inspired by GT racing cars.
Driver-focused cockpit with exclusive racing-car aura.
The interior of the BMW M3 CS Touring combines sports-car performance with advanced digital technology. Standard features include electrically adjustable, heated M Carbon bucket seats with Merino leather and an illuminated “CS” badge, complemented by a Black/Red design that extends to the rear seats and black leather door panels.
A three-spoke M Alcantara steering wheel with a flat bottom and red center marker enhances the racing feel, while red “CS” badges, M seat belts, and model-specific door sills add distinctive touches. The M Setup button allows direct adjustments for the engine, chassis, steering, brakes, and M xDrive, with custom configurations accessible via steering wheel-mounted M buttons.
Equipped with M Drive Professional, the car includes track-focused tools like the M Drift Analyser, M Laptimer, and 10-stage M Traction Control. The M Mode button offers ROAD, SPORT, and TRACK settings for driver assistance systems and display content.
The latest BMW iDrive with Operating System 8.5 features a BMW Curved Display and Intelligent Personal Assistant, enabling intuitive touch and voice control. The 12.3-inch information display includes M Shift Lights and system statuses, while the 14.9-inch control display provides widgets for setup, tire pressure, and temperature monitoring.
Sophisticated options for enhancing driving pleasure and comfort in everyday use.
The BMW M3 CS Touring comes standard with BMW Live Cockpit Professional, featuring a Head-Up Display with M-specific content, BMW Maps navigation, smartphone integration, wireless charging, and a WiFi interface. The BMW Drive Recorder is available as an option.
For added comfort and convenience, standard features include Comfort Access, an alarm system, two-zone automatic climate control, and a Harman Kardon Surround Sound System. Driver assistance features such as Park Distance Control, Parking Assistant, Front Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and Speed Limit Info are also included, with the Driving Assistant system available as an option.
